Come along to the first Your Romford exhibition

Since launching the Your Romford consultation in January, we’ve been out and about gathering people’s priorities, ideas and aspirations for the town centre. Whether you’ve shared your feedback during on-street pop-ups, at a workshop, during a community event or by completing the online form, your ideas are helping to shape a new Masterplan for Romford.

You can see how the views we’ve been gathering are helping to shape early ideas for the Masterplan at the first Your Romford public exhibition. Come along and tell us what you think.

When: Saturday 4 May, anytime between 10-6pm

Where: The Liberty Shopping Centre, Romford (opposite Starbucks)

What is a Masterplan?

A Masterplan is a long-term planning document that outlines a vision to guide growth and development of an area. It defines what is important about a place and how its character and quality can be protected and improved.

Havering Council is developing a new Masterplan for Romford Town Centre to make sure it continues to be a place that people live, visit and enjoy well into the future. The Masterplan will help to shape future development in the town.

Who we’ve spoken to

Over 700 people have taken part in our consultation activities so far and we’ve received over 600 individual responses to date. We’ve also been consulting local businesses, community groups and statutory authorities to make sure the needs and priorities of a diverse range of stakeholders have been heard.

There’s still time to take part – just complete this short online questionnaire.

What have people said so far?

We’ll be sharing a more detailed overview of consultation feedback and how it’s shaping early Masterplan ideas at our first public exhibition, but here’s a summary of the main themes emerging among feedback so far:

What have people said about #YourRomford so far?

We hope to see you at the public exhibition on 4 May, but there will still be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in the coming months.

Keep an eye on our website for updates. For those of you who won’t be able to join us at the exhibition, we’ll be sharing a summary of the important bits afterwards.

A big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share their feedback to date. If you haven’t already done so, please complete this short online questionnaire.
